COURSE CHALLENGE EXAMS

Use the knowledge you have gained through DHI education, industry training and on-the-job experience by taking a DHI Challenge Exam online through our NEW Learning Management System (LMS). Passing a challenge exam will give you credit for a specific course needed for the DHI Education and Credentialing Program. By taking the Challenge Exam, you are indicating to DHI that you have gained enough knowledge of the subject matter through study and experience.
IMPORTANT! An individual might NOT pass the Challenge Exam solely by studying the reference materials provided by DHI for the course. DHI highly recommends taking classroom courses to gain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter. If a student fails a Challenge Exam, he/she will incur a retake fee that will be equivalent to the cost of the Challenge Exam at the time the retake is requested.
To purchase and access the exams, click on the link below to enter the LMS System. You will be asked for your User ID and Password. Your ID is your DHI ID Number, and your password is your last name unless you have changed it (all lowercase). If you do not have your ID, please call DHI at 703-222-2010.
A few tips before you begin:
- A Help screen will be provided to you upon entering the Challenge Exam area.
- Once you have purchased a Challenge Exam, you will have 30 days in which to complete it.
- The Challenge Exams are intended to be taken as open book exams and the materials are shown and provided for download.
- In most cases, you will have 60 minutes to complete an exam (a timed clock icon will appear on the exam).
- You can exit out at any time, and you may restart the exam at any time within those 30 days (previous answers will not be saved).
- Please make sure to turn off your pop up blocker from your computer and from your Google toolbar before you login into the system.
- Student Materials will be available for you to download once you purchase the course and login into the system. The files are in a PDF Format and it will allow you to save the materials on your computer. Please note that study materials are available for all the courses EXCEPT SSC100 – The Fundamentals of Architectural Doors and Hardware Challenge Exam.
- You do not need to click on the “Launch Button” to access the challenge exam for COR125 – Takeoff and Estimating. Instead you will to download the challenge exam which is in a PDF Format.
- Please note that COR133, AHC207, AHC215 and CDC310 are 2-part exams. Students are required to pass the Part 1 – Multiple Choice Questions (which is accessible by clicking on the “Launch Button”) and Part 2 – Written Questions/Essay (which is available in a PDF format).
- Only students who fail a challenge exam will be able to view the questions that they had answered incorrectly. This option is not available for the students who achieve a passing score.
ATTENTION CONTINING EDUCATION PROGRAM (CEP) PARTICIPANTS
Taking and passing a Challenge Exam will earn you a significant amount of CEP points. The formula for calculating your points is: For each hour of class time a Challenge Exam is worth, 1 CEP point will be earned. (Example: COR120 is a 2-day class, and there are 8 hours in a class day. Therefore, the 16-hour class would translate to 16 CEP points earned for passing the COR120 Challenge Exam.) Please note that the tracking and documenting of earned CEP points is the responsibility of the student.
