Level Three: Advanced Technical Expertise
In May of 2016 we announced to the industry our commitment to launch a new multi-tiered credential and certification program designed to recognize technical competence at three mileposts from the beginning of and throughout your career journey as a door security + safety professional. The Level One DHIA - Door + Hardware Industry Associate certificate program was launched, then the Level Two DHT- Door + Hardware Technician credential. There are over 1,200 door security + safety professionals who have been awarded these two levels. Now we’re launching Level Three certifications as the next step on your career path.
DHC: Door + Hardware Consultant
Those who
earn the new DHC certification can demonstrate advanced product and
code application knowledge and expertise; and skills proficient to
detail, estimate and project manage large and complex projects and
existing facility renovations. They are qualified to provide technical
consultation to architects, contractors and building owners on the most
complex building projects, but do not provide specification writing

Participation in our Continuing Education Program (CEP) is required to maintain this certification, which will renew every 3 years. Learn more about our CEP Program.
Requirements
Earning the DHT credential is required to sit for the DHC exam. For more information on
the DHT credential, click here. Once you earn the DHC, like all DHI certifications. You will be required to participate in the Continuing Education Program (CEP) to maintain your certification and you must either maintain DHI membership or pay an annual Certification Fee.
Exam Price and Details
The DHC certification exam is an online exam and is available at a
local Kryterion Testing Center. Cost is $395 for Members and $775 for Non-Members.
