DHIA Certificate

The Door + Hardware Industry Associate (DHIA) certificate is the first step of DHI's new credential and certification program. It recognizes individuals working in a variety of positions in our industry who have achieved a basic technical understanding of product and code applications. To obtain the DHIA certificate, recipients must have completed COR101 - Fundamentals of Architectural Doors and Hardware, and COR102 - Introduction to Codes and Standards, and passed the exams. This is a certificate of completion and is not used as a credential after your name. DHT Practice Test

The Door + Hardware Technician (DHT) is a level two credential for those who have displayed the technical competence to provide detailing, estimating, and project management skills on projects with an intermediate level of complexity of occupancy type, and product and code application. This complimentary DHT Practice Test will help you determine your readiness to take the DHT Exam. You will be able to see the questions that you answered incorrectly, so you can be confident that you have a sufficient understanding of the material covered in the actual Exam. You may take this Practice Test multiple times, if necessary, to help you prepare for the Exam.

COR101 - Fundamentals of Architectural Doors and Hardware

This course is the first step on the education path for door security and safety professionals. It introduces the fundamentals of architectural doors and hardware to those new to the industry who want to understand the basics of products and their applications. There are 12 lessons covering everything from hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, materials and finishes, hanging the door, securing the door, electrified architectural hardware, codes and standards and blueprint reading, specifications, and scheduling.

CE1401 Codes and Standards

This course covers changes in the current editions of NFPA 80 Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives, (2013) and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code (2012) that apply to our industry.
